How to Customize the Default Estimate Email and SMS

This guide explains how to customize the default Estimate Email and Estimate SMS in Clientility. These messages are used when sending estimates to customers, so you can control the default wording before an estimate is sent.

1. Open Settings

Click Settings from the main sidebar to access your account configuration options.

2. Go to Defaults

Click Defaults to access your default configuration settings.

This section is where you can manage preset values used across your account.

3. Customize the Estimate Email

Edit the default Estimate Email message that customers receive when an estimate is sent by email.


You can customize the subject line and body text to match the way your business communicates with customers.


The portal button to view and accept the estimate will be added automatically, so you do not need to include the link in the message.

You can use placeholders like [CustomerFirstName] and [CompanyName] to automatically personalize the message.

[CustomerFirstName] will be replaced with the customer’s first name, and [CompanyName] will be replaced with your company name.


4. Customize the Estimate SMS

Edit the default Estimate SMS message that customers receive when an estimate is sent by text message.

The portal link to view and accept the estimate will be added automatically at the bottom of the message, so you do not need to include it.

You can use placeholders like [CustomerFirstName] and [CompanyName] to automatically personalize the message.

[CustomerFirstName] will be replaced with the customer’s first name, and [CompanyName] will be replaced with your company name.

5. Customize the Multi-Estimate Email

Edit the default Multi-Estimate Email used when sending multiple estimate options to a customer.

This section is only used when you send more than one estimate option, such as 2 or 3 estimates for the customer to choose from.

The portal button to view and accept the estimates will be added automatically, so you do not need to include the link in the message.

6. Customize the Multi-Estimate SMS

Edit the default Multi-Estimate SMS used when sending multiple estimate options by text message.

This message should let the customer know they have more than one estimate option to review and choose from.

The portal link to view and accept the estimates will be added automatically at the bottom of the message, so you do not need to include it.
